The United States seems to be terrified of terrorism. We therefore send our troops around the world to many countries to attempt to protect us from terrorism. However the very act of militarizing the earth with our military might (not to mention our traditional sales of weapons)creates more and more people who hate us and have only terrorism as a weapon to get us to go back home.
We should stay home by the fire. ...where we could still keep watch for those who would attack us at our home.

Terrorism. What an interesting word. The dictionary says the word means:
"noun: the calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimindation or coercion or instilling fear "
So, what might be examples. Well, there was Wounded Knee where in 1890 the 7th Calvary aided by new machine guns surrounded and massacred the women and children of the Lakota Sioux.
Or, we might contemplate the execution and burial in a mass grave a few years later of over 600 "insurgent" Filipinos, also known as civilians fighting a foreign aggressor who had recently invented "waterboarding." Of course, President McKinley assured as we only sought to save our "little brown brothers."
Perhaps the fire bombing of Dresden, a tactic agreed upon by the US and Britain to break the will of the German civilians. But, of course, that was not a unique idea, Gen. Curtis LeMay developed and refined the technique to perfection in Japan where he destroyed the civilian infrastructure of most major cities and left an estimated 1/3 of the civilian population homeless.
Perhaps we could consider the events in Palestine (pick any of a great many) in which civilian homes are destroyed by Israeli Defense Forces Merkava MK-4 tanks.
Or, we could examine the siege and destruction of Fallujah, either one.
You see, it is only terrorism if "they" do it.
